There are three main stitch patterns I use when building my straps. I normally build my straps with an open stitch pattern, but if you want closed or boxed stitching on your strap please let me know in the special instructions field on the order form.

Below I explain what I mean by "open", "closed" and "boxed" stitching so that when you order your strap you'll know exactly what to ask for.

open stitching style   Open stitching
This is where I stitch down both sides of the strap but don't join these rows of stitching - i.e. there are no stitches accross the width of the strap.

Open stitching looks good on any width of strap, and unless requested otherwise it is how I stitch all my straps. The majority of the straps I make for myself are stitched "open".

closed stitching style   Closed stitching
Closed stitching is similar to open stitching but here the strap is also stitched accross the width of the strap at the lugs. This closes the stitching and emphasises the width of the strap.

Closed stitching looks great on wider straps. 24mm and 26mm wide straps can look great with closed stitching.

Boxed stitching style   Boxed stitching
Boxed stitching is simply closed stitching with a twist. Here there is an extra line of stitches accross the width of the strap forming a box at the lugs.

Boxed stitching is best suited to a wide strap, and in a contrasting thread colour can really bring a strap alive.

Of course the comments above are just recommendations. If you want a boxed stitch 20mm strap then go for it!

The three stitch patterns above are my standard three styles, but if there is something else you have in mind then by all means drop me an email to discuss your ideas.
